Adding Product Images

There are two ways to display photos with the items for sale on your website using the Product Image and Product Gallery boxes.

• Product Image: The product image is the main image that displays your individual products. It is reused in various sizes across your website, for example, as the thumbnail images in your product listings.
• Product Gallery: The Product Gallery is space to display additional images of your products. These will often display below the main product image and can be cycled through one at a time.

The recommended minimum size for any product photo is 800x800 pixels. Since your photos will be the most important way for customers to view your products, it's important to make sure they are high-quality images that will display well on different devices. Using larger images than the minimum can improve the quality of the product photo. However, excessively large photos can potentially slow down the load speed of your webpage.

Adding a Product Image

1. Once you have logged in to your WordPress dashboard, hover over the Products tab at the left side of your screen and select "All Products" in the pop-up menu. Select the product you need. You can also follow this same process to add images when you are creating a new product.
2. Find the Product Image box on the right side of your screen and click on the "Set product image" link.
3. There are two ways to add product images, using the "Media Library" and "Upload Images" tabs in the product image pop-up box.
   1. Media Library: If you already have images uploaded to your site's media library, scroll through the images presented and select the image to assign to your product. Using the dialogue boxes to the right, fill in any information you wish to the Alt text, Title, Caption, Description, and Copy link text boxes. Filling in these boxes with relevant info can improve your site's Search Engine Optimization (SEO) rating and make your site more accessible.
   2. Upload Images: Using the Upload Images tab, either drag and drop the image or click the "Select Files" button to search your computer for the image of your product. You can use the same title, alt text, caption, etc. boxes to add information to the photo. Select the "Remove product image" link if you need to clear the photo and assign a new one.

Adding a Product Gallery

1. To add additional photos to your products, find the Product Gallery box on the right side of your screen.
2. Use the same process you just followed to add the main product image.
3. Adjust anything you need. You can click and drag on any of the photos you've added to change their order. Hover over an image and click the red "X" that appears to delete an image.
